200 KG Double Effect Evaporator

The working principle of a double-effect (or two-effect) evaporator involves using the secondary steam generated from the first evaporator as a heating source for the second evaporator.

1. Introduction to the Double-Effect Evaporator

The working principle of a double-effect (or two-effect) evaporator involves using the secondary steam generated from the first evaporator as a heating source for the second evaporator. By controlling the pressure and boiling point of the solution within the evaporator and appropriately lowering them, the secondary steam from the first evaporator can be utilized for heating. The condensation area of the secondary steam from the first evaporator serves as the heating area for the second evaporator, which illustrates the double-effect evaporation principle. Generally, single-effect evaporation consumes 1.1 to 1.2 tons of steam per ton of water, whereas double-effect evaporation consumes 0.6 to 0.7 tons of steam per ton of water.

2. Applications of the Double-Effect Evaporator

Double-effect evaporators are suitable for evaporative concentration and crystallization processes in industries with crystallizable, high-concentration, and high-viscosity solutions. These industries include chemical, pharmaceutical, dyeing, environmental engineering, and waste liquid evaporation and recovery sectors. Double-effect evaporators are commonly used in the production processes of chemical, light, food, and pharmaceutical industries, such as in the preparation of antibiotics, sugar, and freshwater. They are also frequently applied in industrial wastewater treatment across chemical, pharmaceutical, metallurgy, mining, petrochemical, rare earth, lithium battery, and hazardous waste industries.

3. Working Principle of the Double-Effect Evaporator

The process flow of a double-effect evaporator can be categorized into three configurations based on the direction of the heating steam and material flow: co-current, counter-current, and parallel flow.

4. Components of the Double-Effect Evaporator

The components of a double-effect evaporator include a heating evaporator, separator, condenser, circulation pump, insulated pipes, vacuum system, feed pump, condensate discharge pump, operation platform, electrical control cabinet, valves, and piping systems.

5. Characteristics of the Double-Effect Evaporator

The double-effect evaporator is a new type of low-consumption, energy-saving vacuum evaporation concentration equipment. Its characteristics include:
1. Energy-saving and consumption-reducing, with low steam consumption and low cooling water circulation.
2. The equipment can be equipped with a CIP cleaning system for in-place cleaning, making the entire setup easy to operate and free of dead ends.
3. Continuous feed and discharge capabilities.
4. The equipment can be configured with an automation system to achieve automatic control of feed volume, heating temperature, and discharge concentration, as well as automatic cleaning. It can also include emergency protection measures and alarms for material safety during power outages or malfunctions.
